Reflection

Rerflection/ Book

Reflection doubles the knowledge and the wisdom of the learner due to its sharing perspective, with this learner can identify what went wrong? what went wright? .

An integral component of education is to assist students to construct meaning from their learning experiences; students actively thinking about the knowledge and skills they are utilising, rather than simply being passive participants of learning.  One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through the process of self-reflection.

Read A Loud

Read A Loud Activity

  • Students read the text out in turns, each person reading just 2 paragraphs, or  at a time. The idea is to try to get the passage to flow smoothly and with proper intonation.
  • One person reads aloud, and another acts as conductor. Arms up means loud, arms down means soft. Or arms left means slow, arms right means fast. Or, the conductor can conduct a choral reading of the passage, source: https://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/article/reading-aloud

Project Based Learning

Below, Grade 5 Students are showing the Project which was based on PBL (Project based Learning).
In today's era most of the educators know about this type of project and believe me working with the students on this kind of project is challenging as well as fun, because it incorporate the ATL Skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, Communication etc. It also fulfill the requirement of PYP Concept based learning and teaching, while doing the project students in- cooperate the PYP Attitudes and concepts in their Project. Though the project standard may not be high at this time but the students eventually now knows the importance, reason and consequences of PBL.

In the below picture students are showing the process as well as the product.

Topic-  "I want to be a writer"

All the three steps of Inquiry cycle were followed by the students.

1. Knowledge and understanding
2. Action
3. Reflection

As  a Facilitator, I always feel "the Process is the more important than Product"

Using Paired Reading to Increase Fluency and Peer Cooperation

In this strategy, students read aloud to each other, pairing more fluent readers with less fluent readers.  Likewise, this strategy can be used to pair older students with younger students to create “reading buddies.”  Additionally, children who read at the same level can be paired to reread a text that they have already read, for continued understanding and fluency work.  This research-based strategy can be used with any book or text in a variety of content areas, and can be implemented in a variety of ways.
